v2.1 online

Spent about 2 hours tonight fixing up the bio and resume pages...rounded the corners of the boxes and added some testimonials. Sure hope some employers decide to visit my site. Oh, by the way, people can sign up to the mailing list to receive updates when I write in this blog...in case anyone cares...

Indian Tan

Got up at 6am yesterday to play golf with my sister and her friends. Wow...6am! I don't remember when was the last time i got up so early. It was really fun, even though I hadn't played for over a year and I've played a total of 3 times in my life. At first, I couldn't hit any balls, but later on, I actually made some decent drives and putts.
Had afternoon K with Teddy, Christine, and Gabriel. That was fun too. K is always fun, especially with less people, meaning I can sing more. Hehe. I've tried all of Leo Koo's new songs, but I haven't got any of them down yet. Need to figure out when to breathe when singing those songs...
Oh yea, yesterday was also a sort of farewell for Irving. He's going back to Michigan to finish is Masters degree. Hope he does well. Good luck, Irving!

Me and Topper!

Went to Waterloo today and finally saw Charley's puppy, Topper! Wow, is he one big ball of energy! Such a cute little puppy, no wonder Charley decided to get him. Hahahah. Kinda makes me want to adopt a pet too. In the picture, you'll see Topper chewing on my finger. Good thing his bite isn't that strong yet, so my fingers just got all wet!

After lunching with Charley, I went to visit his lab (one big deserted room) and we had a nice chat to catch up. It seemed like yesterday that Charley was that young, cocky kid I saw on the schoolbus to the first year job fair...but now we're all grown up! Hehe.

Also went to pay Christine a visit in her office. Too bad she'll be moving out soon since she's retiring...I mean graduating. ;) Congratulations, hope you find a job soon and hire me!

Actually, the reason I went to Waterloo was to retrieve copies of my past co-op evaluations and to reset my Quest password. But seems like I had way more fun visiting friends.

jasonstudios.com v2.0 is online!

Okok, so I finally got part of the new website working, and I decided to put it online first while I continue to work on other parts. As of now, you'll see the blog, and the about pages. But I find the about pages format to be slightly awkward...so I might change that too as I go along. It sure took me a long time to work up the title bar up top in Flash MX...but it was fun learning. Hehe.

Tuesday...I hate tuesdays

Whew, another day spent in front of the computer looking for jobs. I've got a major issue with Accenture and HSBC's web interface for job applications. They both ask the applicant to list ALL marks from ALL subjects...which is pretty ridiculous. Haven't they ever heard of attachments? On other sites, I can simply attach a scanned version of my transcripts and be done with it...

Went swimming today, but didn't know it was adult fitness time at the pool (Tuesdays and Thursdays they changed the Lane Swim times). Ended up swimming (floating actually) with a bunch of old people...haha...and some of them were saying in cantonese how those young people should respect the rules and not disturb THEIR swim time...man...

Worked again on jasonstudios.com v2...almost got the title bar done...be a bit more patient! :)

I'm back!

After a long layoff, I'm finally back in Toronto (and back on the web for that matter). Can't believe the old company (Hercules Hosting) that was hosting my website went bankrupt in April, and since I was swamped with school stuff till June, then I went to Asia for 2 months...that's why It's taken me more than 4 months to get my site back on the web. Hope this site would be a lot better than my old one. There'll be some major changes to my website, starting off with this blog page. I sort of found out that updating my own blog is kind of time intensive, so I've decided to use Google's free blog service and just link to it from my own website. Hey, they've already got all the scripts...so why not?

Right now, I'm looking for a job in good ol' TO, but the market ain't looking so rosy. I sort of knew this from before, that there won't be so many hardware jobs in Toronto, but I hadn't expected things to be this bad...Basically, there are only 3 names in hardware that pops into my head when I think of Toronto. ATI, Altera, and Genesis. Either there aren't other companies here, or they don't advertise enough. How do you attract talent of people don't even know your name? I have no idea.

Anyways, enough for the first blog...I'm sure they'll be many more to come.
