I got a job!

Hey...I got a job! I actually got the job with TD Securities on Monday, but I waited a little while to put it on this website..just becuz I still can't believe it. After months of searching, I finally found a job.

The position is as an Analyst with the Derivative Technology group...so I am basically doing tech support...haha...j/k. It is in fact business support...I find out what is wrong with the pricing and or program and I try to fix it. It will give me lots of experience in finance, stuff that I will need in order to move on. What a great opportunity! I can't wait to get started...!

Kunbanwa!

Mina-san, kunbanwa. Ogenki desu ka? Mou jiu-ichi ji han desu ne...ima ore wa, tokei ga, mitte imasu. I'm very bored. There are so many projects I'm working on, I feel like I am spreading myself too thin. I guess this is what jam feels when you spread it on bread...I can't cover that piece of toast over there...argh!

Basketball Junkie

The Lawyer show on Fairchild TV is over, and I'm feeling kind of at loss in the evenings trying to find something to do between 9 and 10pm....haha...can't believe it was that addictive. I guess I really should start studying for my Jap exam and my CFAs...since I seem to have all the time in the world.

Oh yea, it's October and NBA preseason has started. Houston looks really good this year with Yao and McGrady, and I also really like the Pacers with the addition of Steven Jackson. One thing I can't figure out is what the hell happened to Carter...he's turned into a bitching wimp the last few seasons...it was only 3 seasons ago that he was on the verge of the Pantheon, right up there with AI and Kobe as the best of this generation, but now he's just a whiner. Can someone please take him off Toronto's books...please??? Promising rooks? I would have to say Shaun Livingston in Portland and probably Luol Deng in Chicago. They on teams that will allow them to go out and play and just gain more experience. Did anyone see Kobe put up 35 and still LOSE? I think that will be the flava of the season for LA...haha...and good riddance too!

Job job job

Still looking for a job. Seriously, it really hasn't been that long, I've only looked since end of August, but it feels like an eternity to me. O well...

After months of saying I will only look in Toronto, I have now expanded my search area to include the US. And then wham, I get a phone interview next monday...What is wrong with Canada and me? Does God not want me to stay in Canada...? Sigh...

Thanksgiving is coming up...wishing everyone a good THKSGVNG.

Fixed my computer!

Wohoo, I managed to fix my laptop and am using it now! Turns out it was all XP-SP2's fault. Must have been some legacy components being incompatible, cuz whenever I tried to boot with SP2, my machine would turn off within minutes. But since I used the original recovery discs, I am running fine. Sometimes, I seriously wonder whether it is worth it to upgrade or patch your system with Microsoft upgrades. They never seem to work correctly, and it's always such a big pain! I think the best thing people should do is use a firewall, like zone-alarm, cuz that really helps with intrusions. Then maybe get an antivirus...but for now, I would prefer to stay away from Microsoft upgrades.
